Winter & Spring: November 1st to Memorial Day - 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. The Wild Center is not open to the pubic on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday during this time but is available on those days for scheduled school visits and for other reserved groups.

Camp Guggenheim is one of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg's summer resident camps for teens! Camp Guggenheim is located on Lower Saranac Lake in the amazing Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Built in 1903 as an Adirondack Great Camp, Eagle Island has been a summer home for Girl Scouts since 1938. Our unique island setting is ideal for aquatic activities of all types, and a ten-minute boat ride to the mainland puts us within easy reach of spectacular hiking in the Adirondack Park. All Eagle Island campers participate in swimming, boating, crafts and archery, as well as activities specific to their chosen program. Campers live in units of 15 - 25 girls, in platform tents or cabins. Modern bathhouses and showers are centrally located.

Located on a 91-acre site on a peninsula in Lake Clear surrounded by state land in the Adirondack Park, 20 miles from Lake Placid and adjacent to the St. Regis Canoe Area. Facilities include cabins, lean-tos, dining hall, lodge, arts & crafts building, welcome center, nature center, trading post, infirmary, boating and swimming areas, large playing field, volleyball court and hiking trails.

A driving tour of a still-mysterious Underground Railroad operation in which fugitives were concealed in a specially-constructed church, then smuggled through other stops and finally across the Canadian border twelve miles north. Sites associated with Ashbel Parmelee, Jabez Parkhurst, William Wheeler, Charles Bowles, John Dimick, Nathaniel Colver and Luther Lee will be visited. Tours arranged by appointment. Maps and written descriptions will be provided. Tours conducted by Dr. Peter Kivic, Ph.D., research historian.

Built in 1894, the Saranac Laboratory was the first laboratory in the United States built for the study of tuberculosis. The museum features exhibits on TB research and patient care and "The Great War: WWI in Saranac Lake". Guided tours of the building interpret Saranac Lake's unique history as a pioneer health resort. The museum is open July 15 to October 8, Wednesday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or any time by appointment. Cost is $5 per person. Historic Saranac Lake also operates the Bartok Cabin, where composer Bola Bartok spent the last summer of his life writing two pieces, his Third Piano Concerto and Viola Concerto.
